Bach Rescue Pastilles Review – 12 Facts You Need to Know

Bach Rescue Pastilles are a homeopathic medication that has been in use for several years. These pastilles come from essences of five different flowers. Here is a review of Bach Rescue Pastilles and the company’s claims.

Last Updated On: June 23rd, 2022

Bach Rescue Pastilles are natural brain-enhancing homeopathic medication. The company claims that these pastilles can be taken in any stressful situation.

They help elevate mental health status as they can help you cope with anger, anxiety and make you more patient.

But we had some serious doubts while looking at those claims.

Are these pastilles really that effective? Is there any significant relationship between the ingredients and the claimed benefits? Are they really safe for your consumption?

To reveal unbiased information, we decided to have an in-depth look at this product's composition and its benefits.

Here’s all you need to know...

What are Bach Rescue Pastilles?

Bach Rescue Pastilles are an all-natural remedy for enhancing brain functions.

The formula was originally developed by Dr. Edward Bach, an English doctor & homeopath, decades ago.

This homeopathic medicine is a combination of essences that come from five different flowers.

According to the company, these flowers are especially chosen to help combat stress and create a sense of calm and emotional well-being in your daily life.

These pastilles come in four different flavours, including:

  •  Lemon
  • Cranberry
  • Black Currant
  • Orange & Elderflower

Bach Rescue Pastilles Ingredients Analysis

The ingredients in Bach Rescue Pastilles as mentioned by the company on its Official Website are:

  • Rock Rose
  • Impatiens
  • Clematis
  • Star of Bethlehem
  • Cherry Plum

Rock Rose

Rock Rose is a shrub that stays green throughout the year.

The company uses the extract from its flower to prepare the pastilles. According to the company, this ingredient helps with overcoming fear.

Our analysis of the scientific literature did not find any relationship of Rock Rose with improving any mental function at all.

The major component of this flower is Naphthoquinone which has anti-inflammatory effects. So, it can help to fight stress and reduce pain to a moderate level.

The research found several toxic effects of Naphthoquinone. It affects the kidneys and heart.

Moreover, there is a risk of developing bleeding disorders that can lead to anemia.

The company claims that the concentrate of this flower helps to improve focus. There is; however, no research available to support this claim.

A guide for medical professionals related to herbal medication mentions some side-effects in the digestive tract. This ingredient can cause diarrhea and irritate your intestines.

Star of Bethlehem

Star of Bethlehem is claimed to provide comfort and assistance with fighting difficult situations.

A study published in the Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics shows that it is good for the heart.

However, we could not find any significant evidence about the effects of this ingredient on the brain.

Cherry Plum

It is a plant mostly found in the Southeastern parts of Europe and Western Asia.

This ingredient can cause more harm than good to the brain.

A clinical case showed that a patient who accidentally ingested wild cherry showed severe neurological symptoms.

Are Bach Rescue Pastilles Ingredients Safe & Effective?

One of our major concerns about Bach Rescue Pastilles is that they are not approved by the Food & Drug Administration (FDA). So, their safety and side-effects are still in question.

The company does not explicitly mention this fact on its website, but these pastilles have traces of gluten as well.

Research has found that gluten can provoke inflammatory disorders in your digestive tract. This inflammation then leads to diarrhea and bloody stool.

A study of scientific literature showed that some of the ingredients are associated with adverse effects on the brain and kidneys as well.

Our analysis did not find these pastilles effective when it comes to enhancing mental capabilities.

Most of the ingredients have no scientific background to support the company’s claims about its health effects on the brain.

How to Take Bach Rescue Pastilles?

Each tin of Bach Rescue Pastilles weighs about 50 grams. So, you can expect to have somewhere around 35 pastilles per tin.

As directed by the company, one pastille should be consumed as needed.

Do Bach Rescue Pastilles Provide 100% BrainPower?

Bach Rescue Pastille can somehow help you fight a stressful situation and reduce the pain. But besides these two benefits, we did not find any evidence regarding the company’s claims.

The claims regarding focus, comfort and composure have no scientific basis whatsoever.

Cancer Research UK states that flower extracts don’t have any physical or mental effects.

So, we cannot say for sure if Bach Rescue Pastilles are effective, or are they just another placebo in the market.

Customer Reviews

Here are some customer reviews that we found:

I've only used these for a day and a half and might be premature BUT alteading working on my 5 yr old grandson who has severe adhd, and sensory processing disorder. From the hrs of 4:30/5 pm until he finally falls asleep at midnight or so ( he's put to bed at 8) he is running ,screaming like a cougar whether mad or happy and causing all sorts of noisy mischief. The last 2 nights have been considerably calmer. with fewer and far between incidents. We're also using vervain tea so may be a combination. Also helping my 2 daughters and myself who have various ailments. My youngest who has had anxiety notice a calmness at first one. I will wait a couple weeks and update if still appears to work or not.

Product looks good but it doesn’t really taste that good at and it did not help with my stress at all.

I re-order these every few years, because I forget that they don’t help me, but “hope springs eternal”. I am already trying some of the elderberry flavor. Again, not feeling any effect. This set allows me to try different flavors. I don’t think the medicinal components would be any different between the various flavors. We’ll see.

Bach Rescue Pastilles Alternative - Consumers' No. 1 Choice

Bach Rescue Pastilles help with stress. They can be a good option if you are facing a challenging situation.

There is also evidence available regarding the beneficial effects of these pastilles in fighting mental injuries.

However, besides the assistance with stress and injury, our in-depth analysis of the ingredients did not find any of the promised benefits in the product.

There is no potent evidence that these pastilles actually help to enhance mental capabilities.

One of the reasons might be that the formula was devised decades ago. There was no further evaluation whether the formula was actually effective, and the FDA has not evaluated it either.

Also, the ingredients have some dangerous side-effects.

The good news is, we found Mind Lab Pro, a great alternative to Bach Rescue Pastilles.

Mind Lab Pro is an all-natural nootropic that actually provides great mental health benefits.

It has shown no side-effects to date and is the best choice in the market for attaining a high level of mental energy.

From a detailed analysis of Bach Rescue Pastilles, we conclude that this product does not provide the same benefits as the company claims.

The formula is out-dated, and there is no association between the claimed mental benefits and the ingredients used to manufacture the product.

Bach Rescue Pastilles can be used as a sweet candy, but when it comes to boosting your brain, it’s not a viable option.

One of Bach Rescue Pastilles’ legal disclaimers from Amazon includes, consumption of it can expose you to chemicals including lead, which is known to the State of California to cause cancer.

Compared that to Mind Lab Pro, which can help you with stressful situations and can help improve your focus without exposing you from any chemicals.

3 Total Score
Not Recommended!

Bach Rescue Pastilles are not an option to consider for enhancing mental performance. There is no proven evidence about the effectiveness of most of the ingredients used. Lack of mental benefits and the presence of many ill-effects on health make this product not your best option. Instead, we recommend Mind Lab Pro, the perfect solution for all your mental problems

  • Help with stress
  • Prevent injury to the brain
  • No proven mental health benefits
  • With potential side-effects
  • No money-back guarantee
  • Presence of gluten, a potentially toxic substance
  • Not evaluated by the FDA
